Letter of Indemnity

Tags: Logistics

A Letter of Indemnity (LOI) is a document in which the shipper indemnifies the shipping company and holds it harmless against any claim arising from a breach of contract. A common example is the release of goods without the provision of an original bill of lading. An LOI allows the buyer to take immediate possession of the goods upon delivery.
